And the "Most Dirty" Award goes to....

Natalie - What can I say? She was just as dirty as the boys if not more. We took the new trailer out this last Friday for a test run. It was a good thing we were close to home because the hot water heater had some issues. Anyway the kids had a blast. We just went up to Jolley's Ranch and spent Friday night. We made boy scout dinners, roasted marshmallows for smores and tried to get Nati to stay the night. At about 10:30 I brought her home to sleep. It was a nice thought though. She sat in the dirt and just grabbed handfuls and threw it all over herself. My dad and mom came up and had dinner with us and I think my dad about lost it. For anyone who doesn't know him, he is anal about the kids staying clean. We just let her go to town in the dirt. It was great! The boys love the bunk beds and I love that we can actually breath in there and not walk all over eachother. We're hoping that it will continue to be a fun family thing.

Fathers & Sons

Yeah, I got an afternoon without the boys. They have been begging Jason to take them fishing, so he finally gave in. His dad and brother, Jesse, went along also. They left early in the morning, so early that Dylan was whining about having to get up that early when school starts. Brax was ready to go. They loaded up the pontoon boats and were off. Nati and I just chilled out all day. We went to lunch with my mom, aunt Lynette and Grandma. They boys had a good time. They didn't catch anything, but still claimed that it was fun. Braxton was covered from head to toe by the time they got home. Jason felt so bad that they didn't catch anything so he took them to the creek to try again later that night. Didn't have much luck yet again. Maybe next time. Fishing has been something that Jason and his Dad have done together for a long time and I hope that our boys will come to appreciate the time they can spend together doing the same thing.

I got tagged!

I guess I'm supposed to write 6 things about myself that others don't know. I think everyone pretty much knows everything about me so I'll try.

1. I still love the group Def Leppard. Yes they are old, but I still listen to them. That really dates me doesn't it?

2. I am afraid of heights.

3. I have read the Twilight Trilogy at least 5 times each (might not be a shocker to some). 17 days and counting!!

4. I hate coconut and most nuts.

5. My all time favorite love story is "An Affair to Remember". Who doesn't love Cary Grant?

6. I cannot stand the sound of styrofoam. I seriously come out of my skin. Jason enjoys torturing me during the kids birthdays and at Christmas. Some people can't do chalkboards, I can't do styrofoam.

My biggest pet peeve

Ok, maybe it's just me but does anyone else get annoyed at the gas station? Not just the price of gas, which is so unbelievable, but other people at the gas station. Every single time I go, which is way too often, the other person either in front of me or behind me is pulled up so that they are parked right in front of the pump, meanwhile I am stretching to even see the numbers. Please tell me I am not the only one. I went to Maverick today and a lady was pulled so far up that I honestly could barely see the numbers of my gas. We got done at the same time & mean person that I am I waited for her to back out so that I could drive forward. So dang annoying!! Sorry but I was extremely annoyed. Let me know if you feel the same way.

A day at Lagoon

We went to Lagoon on July 5th with Jasons family. I have two words that describe that day - freakin' hot!!! Seriously it was 92 in the shade. The boys absolutely loved it, Nati wasn't liking it so much. I would take her into the bathrooms every hour to cool off as it was the only airconditioning available. We went on Rattlesnake Rapids, got totally soaked, but it was fun. We even took Nati on the Log Ride. She wasn't sure about the drop but liked getting splashed with water. Braxton saw the Tidal Wave and he went crazy. I think he rode that one three or four times. We did have a good time, but the heat was a bit much. The atmosphere is nothing like Disneyland but the price is comparable. As we were driving away Jason said "Yeah, that isn't the happiest place on earth." We saw some very interesting people - stomachs were seen that shouldn't, major tattoos and interesting body-piercings. I just don't remember it being like that when I was a kid. I was happy just to see the kids having so much fun. Dylan promises that he will do the Colossus next time with me. We'll see!!

Out with the girls

I'm not sure how it happened that I have been able to get together with friends twice in a months time. It is a rare thing, but I am so glad that we were able to do it. Danielle and Kathryn weren't able to make it for the backyard get together so we met at Art City Trolley to eat and chat. It was great to see them both. I love that everyone elses kids are as crazy and busy as mine. It makes me feel more normal! Girls, you are the best and I thank you for being such great friends - don't know what I would have done without you all!! I look back at my high school years and recall how fun and difficult those times were. I was extremely blessed to have such great friends that kept me going, especially when Jason left on his mission. It's a good thing he was worth the wait! You guys are the best - can't wait for the next get together!!
