I had such high hopes for Valentines Day this year. I wanted to make a fun dinner - somewhat "valentiney", red, and tastey. That didn't happen. I got a little sick the night before and couldn't even think about food. So Valentine's Day consisted of candy grams for the kids at school, a stuffed animal and some chocolate when they got home, & McDonalds for dinner. The most I could stomach was using our indoor smore maker for a fun dessert. I felt so bad, but the kids loved the smores which made it an ok day. I am so lucky to have such great kids and a hubby that I love more than anything. Oh, and just FYI - Dylan was asked by 2 different girls to be their valentine. The first girl has liked him for at least a year. He said she was blushing and really nervous so he said "Yes". My son has become quite the ladies man - like father, like son. Oh, how I heart Valentine's Day!!

Danny's bundle of joy!
I got to see something I have wanted to see for years and years. And years! My brother Danny become a dad. This little sweet thing is his baby girl. She was born Thursday afternoon. Danny has been so excited - he even showed me the positive pregnancy test last summer. Little Cheznie is a little miracle. I was a bit sad that I missed the actual arrival but we got to see her the next day. Jentry was a trooper - was acting like nothing happened to her an hour after delivery. My kids are so smitten with her. I think she is so yummy. Dylan wonders at my choice of words but yummy is what she is. Congrats to Danny and Jentry!!

Natalie's Goldfish Part II
Well, tragedy struck Friday afternoon. We got home and she went straight to her room to show her fish to her cousin and the fish was floating. I wanted to avoid a meltdown with her cousin there so I told her that her fish was sleeping. Later on I told her that her fish died. Her face was so sad, she was crushed. We took the fish back to Walmart that afternoon and got another one. And Saturday morning tragedy struck again. I told her that our house isn't good for fish. She is ok with it but made sure she told everyone that two of her fish died. Oh the joys!!

Natalie's Goldfish
Wednesday's are crazy for us. They are just plain crazy. This past Wednesday was a little more crazy than normal. My cute little Braxton has been sick for about 3 weeks. There is a story - stay with me! Anyway, Braxton stayed home from school Tuesday and Wednesday. Natalie has BYU speech on Monday's and Wednesday's from 3 until 4. So on Wednesday, with Braxton being home sick, I was stressed about being on time for speech because I had to pick Dylan up from school to watch Brax while I took Nati. Then the bus bringing Nati home from preschool was late - which added to the stress. So, I have the car started waiting for the bus when to my great joy the bus pulled up. She got off and the tech handed me her backpack which seemed a bit heavier than when she left. He sees my question forming and before I even asked he said, "They got a goldfish today." A goldfish - they came home with a goldfish. Oh, and a little pink paper explaining why and what to do to take care of them stapled to a receipt (good for 3 days in case something happened to the fish). WOW! So we were even later because we had to look at the fish and pour it into the little glass jar and feed it because they hadn't been fed yet for the day. And then we had to look at it again. Natalie is overjoyed! I still haven't decided how I feel about it. So we put the fish in her room and - for now - we will see what happens. Wow - what a Wednesday!
